HISTORY OF DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dentists have attempted to solve the problems associated with missing teeth utilizing implants during much of the 20th century. Interestingly, even ancient civilizations demonstrated the concept by attempting to implant pieces of bone sculpted to mimic the shape of a tooth and placing it in the socket after a tooth was lost and then stabilizing it with a fine gold wire attached to the adjacent teeth.
